The SHIP PRINCIPLE is a principle that i have created back in 2014 which is a way to look at your life in order to understand what you should do next.

Why is it called the SHIP PRINCIPLE? - Well, ships have sections in them which are designed to block off water from flooding the whole ship. In an emergency scenario a ship can close the damaged section(s) and sail to safety.

Well, you can look at your life as a SHIP which has past life sections, new life sections and future life sections.

Past life sections - are the experiences that you have had in your life. These are the events/situations/activities that you have already saturated (satisfied) yourself with.

New life sections - these are the new life goals/purposes that you would engage in. It may be hard to recognize a new life section(s) opening up in front of you, since time may need to pass before you could identify it clearly.

Future life sections - future goals/purposes/activities/events are not known to you in advance. It is by living daily, weekly, monthly and yearly that new information will come to you so appropriate decisions could be made in order to move forward in life.

Jordan Peterson's - Life Progress Diagram (it is like my Saturation Principle)

In the Jordan Pertson's diagram you could see how it shows movement from point A to point B. This is how a person would actually experience moving between the points.

Point A - is the previous life position of a recently accomplished life goal (Point A)

Point B - is the new life sections (goal) opening up for the person to pursue.

Object - is basically some kind of action that you need to execute in order to move forward.

Obstacle - is some kind of barrier/threat that is preventing you from moving towards you new goal (point B).

Tool - is something that you can use to move forward. It could be an idea/belief/physical item/deal or anything else that makes you feel positive about moving forward.

When trying to achieve goal (point B) you always will be moving back and forth between point A and point B. If you overcome the challenges during the execution, then you would arrive at point B successfully.

Please understand that this MOVEMENT towards point B requires that you rely on your on GRIT which you would need to develop over time.

GRIT is passion and perseverance for long-term and meaningful goals. It is the ability to persist in something you feel passionate about and persevere when you face obstacles. This kind of passion is not about intense emotions or infatuation. If you want to understand GRIT better than please read Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance by Angela Duckworth.
