To help you better manage your energy level during the day and week you need to understand the U and S productivity curves.
U Curve - is basically what happens in the normal work week where your energy drops from Monday to Friday and then you recover somewhat on the weekend.
S Curve - occurs when you strategically balance your energy by pre-planning your work and rest periods. The important thing to understand is that you would actually need to rest on Wednesday to recover from work done on Monday and Tuesday. And then the cycle would repeat itself again as shown on the picture below.
Yes, it may not be possible for you to do it if you work for someone and your schedule is set in a specific way. But, you may plan to have a schedule like that on your next job or your own business which will change what type of work you are looking for and your happiness level.
So, go ahead and try to implement the S curve into your weekly schedule and see how much productivity you could get out of it.
Of course, there are more variables that effect how productive you would be, but this is a good starting point especially if you have been utilizing the U curve all the time before.
